¿What is a compressed air vehicle?
A compressed air vehicle is a vehicle that has one or several tanks where you put compressed air, afterward this air go to an air motor for move the vehicle.
Report 25 (3/2/00)
By Armando Regusci
¿Why compressed air vehicles?
1) They use renewable energy.
They are the vehicles of the future because they use renewable energy.
Not only for the next 30 years, time that the oil will be finish, they will keep working in the next 30000 years. What is going to do the world when the oil is finish? We need to prepare for the future now.
2) They use storage energy
During the day hours, the energy that we use is very variable, and the production of energy is very variable too. The eolic energy is very variable and the solar energy is very variable too. We need to storage the hydraulic energy because the production of energy has no variation but the demand of energy is variable. Compressed air is a wonderful way to storage the energy. We can get 5 to 10 times more energy from the same source of energy.
3) They have very fast transfer energy
Is the unique vehicle able to get all his energy in one minute and the energy is renewable, storage, safe and clean.
They can charge the tanks in one minute, instead of the 8 hours that you need to charge the batteries of an electric car.
4) They are ecological
In this vehicle the air is compressed and decompressed, is only a physic transformation is a ZP zero pollution. Every day 10.000 people die in the world for lung diseases due to the pollution of the vehicles. We are racing the temperature of the earth, and all the life in the earth can disappear.
5) They are economic
To run 100 Kilometers in a car in Uruguay you need to spend 10 dollars, in these vehicles only 40 cents of dollar. For run 100 kilometers in a motorcycle in Uruguay you need to spend 5 dollars, in this kind of vehicles only 10 cent of dollar.
6) They are cheaper and easy to build them.
We can make all kind of vehicles, cars, motorcycles, buses, tractors, boats and air planes.
The speed, power, comfort and safe are the same and better than the vehicles that are running right now.
7) Some countries can save a lot of money because they don’t need to import oil.
For Uruguay that means, save 3 million dollars at day.
8) They are safe.
Doing the tanks with 5 centimeters diameter of carbon fiber, they are safe even if the tank broke.
9) They can work together with the air world system
The air world system consists in compress air from the renewable source like wind, water, sun (WWS energy); and then use this energy for vehicles, electricity and other energy utilities in the entire world.
10) With the technology that we have right now, are the only vehicles that have all this conditions:
The oil vehicles fail in the condition:
1) Because they use no renewable energy.
4) Because they are not ecological.
5) Because they are not economic.
They need 25 times more money to run the same distance than the compressed air vehicles.
6) Because they are expensive to build them.
7) Because for some countries like Uruguay or USA you need to import oil.
9) Because they don’t work with the air world system.
The battery electric vehicles fail in the condition:
3) Because they need 8 hours for get all the energy instead of one minute like compressed air vehicles.
1) Because they are not economic.
They expend 10 dollars to run 100 kilometers, because they need to change the battery and 4 cents of dollar of electricity.
The hydrogen vehicles fail in the condition:
5) Because they are not economic.
They need 45 times more money to run the same distance than the compressed air vehicles
4) Because they are not safe, hydrogen is very dangerous.
The Natural Gas Compressed vehicle (NGC) fails in the condition:
1) Because they use no renewable energy.
3) Because they are not ecological. Produce carbon dioxide and other pollution gases.
4) Because they are not economic. They need 15 times more money to run the same distance than the compressed air vehicles. If we compressed air instead of natural gas at the same pressure with the same volume we can run almost the same distance.
7) Because for some countries like Uruguay is necessary import Natural Gas.
8) Because they are not safe. Compressed Natural Gas is very dangerous.
9) Because they don't work with the air world system.

Energy of the compressed air
Using Boyle law we get that
E = 10(xLx-x+1) where
E = Energy in Kilogrameters in a tank of one liter volume.
One kilogrameter is a force of one kilo in one meter, is the same energy of 9.81 Joules.
367000 Kilogrameters is a KWH
KWH = Kilowatt hour
Kgm = Kilogrameter
The absolute pressure in the tank is x Kg/cm the absolute pressure is the relative pressure plus one.
Example: The pressure in the gauge of the tank is 10 kg /cm absolute pressure of the tank is 10+1=11 kg/cm
E = 10(11L11-11+1) = 163.758 Kgm
L11 = 2.3978
2.3978x11 =26.3758
26.3578-11+1 = 16.3758
16.3578x10 = 163.758
A tank with compressed air at 200 Kg/cm of 50 liters volume have 8659x50= 432982 Kgm of energy or 432982/367000 = 1.17 KWH

Description of the Regusci engine and why this engine is the best option.
The Regusci engine consist in a free piston and a free wheel, the connections between the free piston and the free wheel can be done by different ways.
The engine can have one or several piston and these pistons can be equal or different for the same engine.
The piston can be connected to one or several free wheel and the free wheel can be equal or different.
The piston can be simple or double effect and with different diameter and stroke.
An example of this engines is a cylinder very long in relation with his diameter, a piston connected to a shaft, when we put air with pressure inside the cylinder the air push the piston the piston pull the shaft, the shaft pull a chain the chain turn the free wheel and the free wheel turn the shaft of the engine. The engine have two valves, one for let the air go inside the cylinder from the tank or other cylinder and the other for let the air go from the cylinder to the atmosphere or other cylinder.
The engine has a spring for return the cylinder to the initial position.
The advantages of this engine are:
1) The cylinder can be much longer in relation with his diameter; this advantage let open the valve for put the air in and the valve for put the air out only one time instead of several times.
This advantage is very important when the engine works at very high pressures for example 700 Kg /cm or 9940 PSI.
If we use a piston with one cm square of surface the force is 700 kilos and we can use this force in the engine without problem, in the engine the cylinder can by 40 cm stroke, in a piston connected to a crankshaft the valve open and shut 20 times instead of one and we lose energy, if we use a piston with 10 cm of diameter it open 4 times but the surface is the force is 54950 kilos and the engine will be broken.
This let us open the where the air came to the cylinder for 20 cm and afterward shut it and decompress the air at half of his pressure.
2) This engine can run at very high pressure for example 700 kilos or 9940 PSI, if we decompress at 35.21 Kilos we only get 48 % of the energy.
3) If we don’t need it we don’t use it
For example in an engine with 10 pistons we only use one if we don’t need to much power, but if we need all the power we can use all the pistons.
If we don’t need power, we don’t use the engine and it run in freewheel.
When we use all the power, we need to let go to the atmosphere a lot of air, in an engine with crankshaft, we keep moving this lot of air even if we don’t need power.
In a Regusci engine if we don’t need it we don’t use it.
On the top of the stroke the efficiency of the crankshaft is cero.
In the Regusci engine, on the top of the stroke we have the same excellent efficiency that we have in all the stroke.
4 The piston is stop and with out volume when we put air inside the cylinder
This give more efficiency, in an engine with crankshaft this is impossible.
5 When the piston is at the maximum of his pressure when start the movement the mechanical efficiency is the same that for all the positions of the piston and is very high, in an engine with crankshaft the efficiency is very bad when the piston start the movement.
6 We can use a spring for reduce the force when the piston start the movement and afterwards get this energy, the spring is located between the piston and the free wheel.
7 When the pressure of the tank is low we can only use the pistons with high diameter.
8 The engine has a big volumetric efficiency and because there is not force between the piston and the cylinder, it have a long life efficiency, that’s doesn’t happen in and engine with crankshaft.
9 The engine has very good mechanical efficiency for all the positions of the piston.
10 We can put exactly the air that we want each time that the engine works. We can let the air go to the atmosphere at the atmosphere pressure and get all the energy of expansion.
If we need more power we can let the air go to the atmosphere at more pressure than the atmosphere pressure and get more power, but with less efficiency.
11 The efficiency of the Carnot cycle is much better.

In 2001 he received a call from UNT (University of North Texas), they asked Professor Regusci to come over and develop a compress air engine.
He worked with liquid nitrogen vehicles, and with the same among of liquid nitrogen run 300km, instead of the 30km that the UNT prototype was running.
Got 2 patents.
In 2002 he built a motorcycle with compressed air, and in the first test run 20 miles with only one charge of compressed air (march 12).
In 2003 he came back to Uruguay, satisfied for the achievement on the UNT research, but very sad because again he didn´t get any help.
That year Professor Regusci, understood that was fighting against the system, and he start to plan a new strategy to succeed
He never gave up, and today he is still working.
